How about the restaurant in the Sky City truck stop/casino in Acoma, NM. I40 X102. I stopped there one evening and had fish in an amazing sauce. I asked the chef for the recipe. Excellent!

Marion Travel Center x81 I-40 Marion, NC. One of the best menus I've come across on the road. I really enjoyed my meal and they have two flat panel tv's in the dining area and you can smoke in there too!!! They also have a couple of showers.

If you're ever out this way and need to shut er down for a few, this is a great place to do it!!!! Trust me, one of the best menu selections I've seen from any truck stop including the Iowa 80.

Can't say enough about the Truckers Inn at Sauk Centre,Minn.....Good food, pretty waitresses, and their toilets can really take a punch.

I generally don't eat in truckstops anymore. The food is unhealthy and over priced..

But I will make an exception for that little Italian joint they have at the Petro in Rochelle,Ill.

I love the lasagna, and sausage and peppers.

I ate there two weeks ago, the burger was huge and the onion rings were the real deal.

I don't know if the quality was a once-a-year thing, but I had the Thanksgiving dinner buffet at the Voss Truck Port in Cuba, MO (I44 x208). It was as good as I could've had at home. Turkey (seasoned and not dry), ham, roast beef, sage dressing, mashed taters, brussels sprouts (my favorite!), REAL mac 'n' cheese, and pumpkin pie. I would highly recommend it if you happen to be through the area on a holiday.

The Jubitz truckstop's Sunday morning brunch. Show your CDL & it's like 14 bucks.....definitely worth the money, considering a crappy FJ dinner buffet is $11 in some places. The Jubitz brunch buffet has a TON of choices, it's all fresh, hot & well-presented. The guy who runs the place is always there making sure everything is up to par. Most of the diners are "locals" which tells me it's definitely not your "average" truckstop buffet :). I could care less about most of the stuff on the Jubitz menu- overpriced & not that great. The deli by the movie theater is a much better deal. But on Sunday mornings, forget about it....*drool* :yes2557:

Place called 4B's, exit 96 in Missoula, Montana has the world's best tomato soup. Everything else on the menu is sorta "blah" IMO, and overpriced. But, the tomato soup is well worth it. The restaurant has changed hands & is called something else now (it's on the south side of I-90)....but they kept the tomato soup!!

And, it's not a truckstop but it has truck parking- Parkers BBQ in Wilson, NC. If you know what good Eastern NC style (vinegar based) pork BBQ is, Parker's is pretty good. The sweet tea alone is enough to make your teeth fall out :)....my whole family is from that area, some 4 generations back. I grew up eating eastern NC style BBQ, so it's a favorite for me when I am feeling homesick. Now that I'm homebound & in SD I need to figure out how to cook it myself!!
