Has anybody checked fuel temps after truck has been working? I'd guess about near the same as the coolant temp. Since Detroit's return so much fuel. Or at least series 60 does.

Fuel gets hot from running and being returned tanks, etc, but it also gets air in it. That is why the FASS gets you pure fuel to the injectors. Add a fuel cooler on the return line, just plumb an air tank for the fuel to go through and it will cool it down some. I simply installed a temp stinger to a temp guage (same as water temp) between the davco filter and the fuel pump to moniter the temp.

I just don't think fass does much for a series 60. And a cooler would need a shut off valve for winter.

A series 60 runs fuel through an internal rail in the head. I know y'all know that but my point is a cooler does it no good even in the return line. It's right back up to engine temp the second it's back in the head. A consistent fuel temp is better, especially on electronic engines as the timing is more consistent

A Fass will #### sure help them I have seen that first hand. They pull the air out before the gear pump, they also feed the gear pump fuel under pressure instead of it having to draw it. So there isn't a large drop when the demand suddenly increases such as a hill or gear change

    NightWind and Oldironfan Thank this.
