SuperTruckerDan and Dale Clay are my yt trucker subscriptions.
STD (huh never noticed that) is genuinely interested in trucking and it’s history in America. He often stops at truckers historical landmarks around the country and wanders around them shooting video.
Dale Clay is just a relaxed guy who likes to talk about securement on his flatbed.
Both of these guys don’t get involved in any YouTube drama or make up ridiculous stories with click bait titles.

I watch his videos. Only issue I have is his experience level, less than 2 yrs and same company. Not sure he should be coaching new drivers yet but he is upbeat and positive. Also he has done mostly regional running. He does listen to others and is willing to learn himself.

I don’t see anything wrong with him coaching new drivers. Just because you have not been doing something very long does not mean you are not better than others. I know that after two weeks of driving with my trainer when I first started driving that I was twice as competent as he was and he had been doing it for almost 10 years

True. I know some people with 15 yrs plus that shouldn't be coaching or training

Those youtube bubble heads are all drama. Always fighting with each other. The king douche of youtube is this clown named Ike Stephens.

My list of serious youtubers for trucking:

Trucking Exec. .... Excellent. Wanting to help truckers with the business side of trucking.
Jeffery Like .... Teaching leasing to be successful. A bunch to learn from the guy.
Red Viking Trucker.... I just like him. Not just for entertainment either.
Jr. Honduras .... Great trainer. Really like the guy. Rodney got to me.
Mark Staite .... Very good information if you want to go further than just company man. Yet, within a company.
I can't find the sixth. He's an O/O from Canada. Kinda whiney. But taught me much. Political.. I'm not surprised if youtube cut him off. They have a habit of axing good people. He'll just have to start again.

That's the kind of trainer who doesn't watch youtube videos. They are below him.

I do have to admit. I ran across a training video from Swift. This guy was a really good trainer. Real good.

Doctors are frequently trained by almost new doctors for certain procedures. I used to lusten to Dr Dean Edell on radio. That's where he described the technique as "watch one. Do one. Teach one." Thats how he learned to remove an appendix. Flight instructors are frequently just about 1-2 years ahead of their student. The newly minted driver still can see things from the newbies viewpoint while have SOME experience to explain what/how things are done.

Red is a good guy. I watch his videos. Right from the start his info impressed me as right to the point, and focused on the key bits. Unlike some YT truck videos. Only later did I learn he was so green. Red has done a lot of different things. He obviously has a talent for getting the important things right in the chaos of a new endeavor.

His videos are meant for outsiders considering this industry. He's more motivated than most & has achieved above-average or exceptional results. He & Jeffrey Like are reliable sources. But it's easy to watch people do their job well and think it's easy to do as well as they do it.

I personally like Trucker Josh and Old Allie Knight because they show a lot of actual driving and scenery. Not really into the blah blah blah of Little Guy and Little Dawg. Ike Stevens is a fool. Jeffry Ike is informative if youre into business side of things

    Steel Dragon Thanks this.
