I never got on you about it . I was just asking a question in an effort to clarify Your statement.
Again weather you or I do or don't or have in the past has nothing to do with my original question.
How is the ELD mandate an encroaching law. -
Wrong, you stated that the ELD mandate was an encroaching law. I asked you how and you still have been able to explain your statment.
-
Ok how is it going beyond acceptable limits?
-
you kinda exposed yourself with this statement. it's been many decades since anyones been able to do as they please in this industry.
there is no explanation you will accept. you have no concept of what is being discussed. -
WTH is all the commotion about? Seems to me those scribbling in log books a month ago are still scribbling in them today. If you don't like the mandate, just ignore it, fly your flag, keep your pride, and quit your griping already!
Having health insurance was a government mandate too, how did that turn out?Moving Forward Thanks this. -
the fact that the director of compliance granted an eld extension to ag haulers, due to-and i quote-"an incompatibility"-fits right in with dictionary.com's definition.
1. to advance beyond proper, established, or usual limits; make gradual inroads:
2.to trespass upon the property, domain, or rights of another, especially stealthily or by gradual advances.
the FMCSA pretty much admitted they set up ag haulers to fail at their job.
the hos...then eld...the sleep apnea rule....the fmcsa wishlist posted previously....are "gradual inroads". the gradual part in the case of ag haulers was a bit to fast, even for the FMCSA,and now they get to choose who has to comply and when.Oxbow Thanks this. -
I cannot think of a single argument/explanation on any topic that would be capable of convincing anyone who's mind was already made up in advance. I would rather attempt to teach my wife's Pomeranian the two step, it would be immesurably more fun, with a much higher chance of success.
If you are this much in love with your government overlords, then by all means, embrace them and their ever increasing control over your life. But I promise you, they do not share your affection. Now if you don't mind, as I stated earlier, I have no more to say on this topic.
I will leave you with a quote from Thomas Sowell, "A common failing among honorable people, is their inability to recognize how dishonorable other people can be, and how dangerous it is to trust them." -
The people against ELDs will never change their mind. OOIDA took it to court and even they lost.
I can say being in ELDs is really not a problem for me and loads get delivered. I have not seen the store shelves going empty yet like people claimed. So far they seem good rates are up.driverdriver Thanks this. -
Well for one thing my mind isn't/wasn't made up in advance. Your also wrong about my so called love of government.
I actually can't stand our government.
