Ok that's what I wanted to know a price on railed. I figure it's a 15000 to 30000 repair to do it right. Going to send it to frame shop.

I can't remember the company name but they are in PA and they go off of the serial number with a computerized machine that drills and cuts the frame rails exactly like the factory specs, i remember reading about them but i can'r find it in here.
Coopersburg KW used them to do a 1 year old W900 that had both rails bent.Oxbow Thanks this. -

Like BoxCar and Bulldog said, drill holes at the ends of the cracks, v-grove the crack and weld it up. Grind it smooth and lay a patch piece over the area extending a foot or so beyond the crack and weld that in place too, bolt were needed. Also, where the torque arm brackets bolts to the frame rail on the inside, there should be a square plate between the mounting bracket and frame rail to spread the side load. Whole frame rail is complete overkill and really not needed.

My rails were ###### way worse than yours though. Verticle crack 1/4 the way up the web on one rail and an 8" crack along where the web and upper flange met. Not to mention half the thickness was rusted away over the drive axles.Oxbow Thanks this.

I know this is an old thread, but look up a company called PG Adams in Vermont. They did me an awesome job on my new frame rails - all pre-drilled. Upgraded to 100-grade steel from the factory 80-grade steel. Came raw (needing blast/prime/paint). Manufacture time was 2 weeks plus transit time. I highly reccommend them!!Tug Toy, Slowpoke KW, Oxbow and 1 other person Thank this.
