I can't wait to see what they bring to the table. Its time for a change. I can't see the diesel truck going away for the next 20+ years, but its a step in the right direction.

My dealership has already sold 130+ new Cascadia's since they have been released, we have fleets getting 11+mpg fleet average, that's simply amazing. Toss some electric trucks in the mix and lets see what happens!

I don't know if any of us are being serious, but for years Ive been wonderingWhy someone never came up with a diesel electric application for trucks like a train.
So, I don't think the electric truck will be any better than the electric car. Only in Elon Musk's world, and amongst his followers.
    But this

the Nikola I think might make it, if only because of the deep pockets backing it.

11 mpg is amazing. A guy was showing me his phone, I guess the truck talks to the phone now same as my car, and he had 11 something mpg on his, and he said it was 32K ish load.

Think he said he paid $160K cash. O/O spec.

You guys won't know bugs, and longevity problems for awhile yet though.

Just like the happy 1 box issue.

    I don't think a diesel/electric power plant would work in a truck.
I worked for a railroad company for 13 years in the track dept, if you have ever been next to one moving from a stop position you would understand why it wouldn't work, it has to rev up so high just to get the electric motor to start moving, imagine doing that in stop and go traffic.
