If on a high value or hazmat load and one needs to get to the ER, the other would need to be with the load.

There are some things that trump company policy. Go to the ER take care of one another.

That was what we did in our time as long that truck was parked lawfully.

I suppose death is not allowed to take both of you out of that truck at the same time eh? /sarcasm vs your company.

I hate to be difficult, but there are some things more important than just some company policy. You are not hauling the crown jewels or something irreplaceable back there. And you cannot replace the lost chance to be with the Spouse who is sick in the ER. That's potentially forever if it does not go well.

 

This flu thats going around is nothing to keep driving with if you or co/driver get it one or the other will be feeling super bad for more than a few days?

 

In our state we have lost a couple dozens so far.

We have to come out to church or related things now and then and always someone coughing up a throat full of mucus or a lung. With the current infections mostly H3N2 I think its called, a strain not covered by the current set of flu shot I don't want it. I have certain damage in my respitory system and if I pick up the flu I would be right there in the hospital with the rest of them. That's not something I choose to do. I'll ride it out right here in my home with a bottle of Johnny Walker and Mr Beam Vanilla to help things along.

I remember when I got fevered in trucking. I usually tried to head home with miles driven per day getting shorter and shorter until I got too sick to drive. And then burned in the bunk for a couple of days while dispatch waited.

The income falls off quite a bit for that month. But savings kick in and it's ok as long Dispatch knows that you are sick. They have always been good.

But never do I see do not leave the truck to go to the ER Who does that? No one is that cold. Go to the ER if you need to.
