That's one of the benefits to owning my truck. I get to drive on all of those fun little roads with NONE of the BS a company driver has to put up with. It's been 12 years since I drove a truck with any of that messaging crap in it, and it's been just as long since I've taken a driving test for any company. The only time my vest gets put on is on-site when required by the customer...and even then, ONLY if I need to exit my truck.
So I got a job offer.

I am just looking to get experience out on the road and not touch any freight. Schneider seems like a good company to start with. I've heard horror stories about CR england and swift.
Rocknroller4 Thanks this. -
Dude if you live near wintersville why don't you take your CDL to the oil field and make twice as much? Schneider is garbage.
-
I don't live near there.

Congratulations on the new job! I feel like I’m in a similar boat as far as questioning how otr works but I’m also super intrigued by it.. Keep us updated on how you like it! Good luck!

Thank you! I certainly will. Good or bad I feel like being as young as I am I should def take the plunge. I managed at Perdue foods and Pepsi and hated it after awhile, I love being out on the road and meeting new people.SplashDogs Thanks this.

That’s exactly where I’m at to. Currently working in management but I’m young (24) and I feel like now is the perfect time to take a opportunity and run with it. Worst thing that happens is you end up not liking it and return back to a local job. You just never know until you give it a chance though
Oxbow and bigkev1115 Thank this. -
Exactly. Thank you.SplashDogs Thanks this.

Schneider is a good company. They often ignore negative DAC reports. What you should do is give up your apartment if you are renting and live full time in the truck to save up your money. I did just that and within a year, I saved up $30,000.

Really? Right now I just have room mates.
