I got 7 acres with a 4 bay RV barn at the end of a county lane.. I park my truck in front of my barn, sometimes inside of it if I want to put the trailer in one bay and the truck in another.. Mostly I just park it in front of the barn. One of the neighbors on the county lane thought he would tell me that this area is not zoned commercial and he owned the lane.. I informed him it was zoned agricultural and my end dump was an agricultural vehicle...LOL! I also educated him on county easements (I worked for the county highway dept for 8 years and county road boss is a friend of mine)...I could access the barn from the road in front of my house as I have a whistle installed for that but I like coming down the lane that he foolishly built his house to close too...LOL.
Now as for others in my area that do not own property... We are lucky to have a local Walmart manager who is truck friendly. He allows drivers to park in a designated section of the parking lot over the weekend, or for a couple of few days. There is usually about a half dozen or so parked there every weekend. Actually we have a few friendly businesses that will allow parking over the weekend as long as you are out of the way. The local truck stops don't seem to mind much as I have left the truck there before. I don't like to bring it to the house loaded because of the tracks it leaves in the ground, although I do it from time to time but mostly when I go home I get empty first. I do understand some of the problems those of you who live in cities must have but rural areas are usually pretty truck friendly.
