I got 7 acres with a 4 bay RV barn at the end of a county lane.. I park my truck in front of my barn, sometimes inside of it if I want to put the trailer in one bay and the truck in another.. Mostly I just park it in front of the barn. One of the neighbors on the county lane thought he would tell me that this area is not zoned commercial and he owned the lane.. I informed him it was zoned agricultural and my end dump was an agricultural vehicle...LOL! I also educated him on county easements (I worked for the county highway dept for 8 years and county road boss is a friend of mine)...I could access the barn from the road in front of my house as I have a whistle installed for that but I like coming down the lane that he foolishly built his house to close too...LOL.

Now as for others in my area that do not own property... We are lucky to have a local Walmart manager who is truck friendly. He allows drivers to park in a designated section of the parking lot over the weekend, or for a couple of few days. There is usually about a half dozen or so parked there every weekend. Actually we have a few friendly businesses that will allow parking over the weekend as long as you are out of the way. The local truck stops don't seem to mind much as I have left the truck there before. I don't like to bring it to the house loaded because of the tracks it leaves in the ground, although I do it from time to time but mostly when I go home I get empty first. I do understand some of the problems those of you who live in cities must have but rural areas are usually pretty truck friendly.

I seen a couple people on the road with cats. I couldn't believe it the first time I seen one. It was sprawled out soaking up the sun on the dash. Then the lady started driving and I guess the cat went in the back. I usually see dogs. If you get a pet tho make sure you really want one and will take care of it. I've seen people abandon there dogs at the truck stops and you feel bad seeing the dog walking back and forth looking for it's owner only to realize the sad truth. Or all those dogs I see dead on the side of the road. But the weirdest animal I heard a truck driver have was a parrot. Even had a picture. Not sure if it was here or somewhere else I seen it but he had a huge stick for it to stand on and a nice setup in the passenger seat. I guess any animal will get used to it overtime just like a person. Just takes some time so if it don't adjust right away don't get frustrated.

Well it's not a Hilton...lol. I've parked there quite a few times. Nothing unsafe about it. It's just a typical truckstop. Plenty of parking. Never tried the food so I can't comment on that. I would leave my truck there for home time.
