Better MPG

Reminds me of the us express driver I followed into the Lodi cal J a few years ago .
Most of the trailer roof was draped over the right side flapping in the breeze ...left wall getting ready to collapse outward .
Utterly unconcerned he backed into a spot , pulled the curtains closed and I never saw him get out of the truck.

 

This guy is not up to date on the newest tech.. Clearly if he had one of the newer disc brake trailers in our fleet he could have reduced the roll resistance even more.

 

Stupid Prime screwed me out of my fuel bonus and put a prevatable on my DAC for a flat tire! Could your recommend some companies that will hire a driver with a flat tire on their record?

I was thinking possibly a lease driver, middle of January, hadn’t seen a paycheck since before Thanksgiving, old lady told him not to come home, and then suddenly...a breakdown.

 

It's obvious what happened.

When the rear trailer wind deflector kicked in at 55 mph (Prime's govenor speed) the truck lunged forward to 60 mph, a speed beyond anything that truck had traveled heretofore.

That excess torque caused the 2 outside trailer tires to come off.

 

But seriously. Can we assume those were super-singles? Maybe the driver curbed something solid and/or sharp leading into or driving around in the truck stop, and blew out BOTH tires, and continued driving, and shortly after, the tires ran off the rims?

Would not be surprised if he clipped some flatbed's ICC bumper who was parked out on the end of a row.

Western Express will hire that driver.

 

Yeah, but it would have been better if he left it in a loves tire pass lane.
