Hmmmm.... I guess after getting signed up and trying to learn how to post messages on this forum, I never even thought about the profile page.

 

The least expensive radio with all the features you listed would be the Bearcat 880 and I believe right now they are on sale at Loves for $99.00 or may be able to find it for less then that on Amazon. I have one and its a good single final Am only radio, has good receive and transmit range and comes with a stock noise canceling mic ( 6 pin ) that works really good and there is an included 6 pin to 4 pin adapter if you would rather use another mic. The radio comes stock with 520 mosfet final and after increasing modulation to 100% carrier wattage is 5 , pep swing to 20 watts. Another radio that I just bought recently is the Roadking RK classic, which is actually made by uniden. It too comes stock with 520 mosfet final and after turning modulation to 100% carrier is 4 watts and pep swing is around 16 watts. The radio is same size as cobra 29 and has same features but IMO the receive is much better and they sell for $ 99.00 in the Loves or Flying J/Pilot.

 

Point was I ‘d practically give you a radio if I didn’t have to ship it. But oh well.

 

1/4 is your only mobile option unless you plan on towing this trailer behind you.

How far will the rm203p get you out? I've been contemplating doing a rfx85 on my cobra 29 or something else. If I can find a cheap amp that won't #### the bed in a week, I'll go that route for now but I'm sure eventually I'll build something nicer. I have an 06 jeep wrangler, fiberglass top, tail light antenna mount, cobra 29, rg8x 18', and I can run whatever antenna I need to but I already own a 3' and 4' firestiks, and a 102" whip.

 

There are so many factors that determine effective communications range at any given time that I can't give you a reasonable answer. Except, perhaps that 80 watts or so will yield noticeably more range than will 4 watts.
