Thank you MR. Harvey!

Sir you are awesome. You had me at Parrot.
I did not really know how easy it would be to detect a parrot using canned sentences.. Bent glass. Hmm.. really? You got me there. Love it.
Edit...
I'll take a look at your list shortly, If it is a GOOD list, you will be walking up towards the vehicle looking for it's leaning, feeling sad and so on. Especially if it is loaded wrong somewhere or one of the spring hangers are broken etc. (Particularly the front end under the cab, the old macks would look out of place with the body of the cab smooshed too close to the tire...)
Edit two.
Hot diggity, you do talk about leans in that report. It's OUTSTANDING.Last edited: Jan 22, 2018

Awesome.
Now. There I think is a form of satire found in some videos that are not too serious. It is intended as a form of stress relief through humor if done right. The old Trucker Earl Videos on the VCR in training orientation comes to mind. I actually recall some of those with the lessons contained in them 30 years later because it's so funny. Hey! I’ve never actually seen that particular video but my school has recommended another YouTube video. Search for “Class A pre-trip by Apex CDL Institute”. Very informative video but it’s about a hour long so plan on spending some time watching it. Obviously the actual pre-trip doesn’t take anywhere close to that long but the video really goes into detail on few things.. I found it helpful!
I’ve also found that breaking down the pre-trip into 3 different segments has been helpful - general truck check, in-cab inspection, and testing the air brakes (air brake bleed down) - it’s a little easier to remember the steps when you do it this way (in my opinion).
I’m sure every school is different though and they can best recommend to you, which way they prefer you doing it! Best of luck at school

Speaking from the perspective of a female, I’m not sure how much guys will actually listen to/learn from these lol.. but hey if that’s your learning-style then go for it haha

After careful thought maybe the women would like chippendale or beefcakes with those rigs. I don't know really. //teasing.
Or a cell phone app to wave at the rig and see if it says it's good or not. Or something along those lines, I would not know.
It is a difficult subject for some of our esteemed students learning to truck. And it is a method to hold attention long enough to at least try to teach or learn something.
Im right about 52 or so now and thinking back to my schooling class on pretrip and no internet or computers much back then. Everything was pencil and paper. If we had all of this back then it would have been amazing to us.
It's almost as if you don't need a school now to drive. And perhaps we better enjoy it while we can because someday maybe the trucks wont need us to drive them anymore. And that's no fun.SplashDogs Thanks this. -
I would hate to think of a time in the future that trucking is no longer needed. Hopefully that time never comes... The classroom at my school has a nice mix of online & pen/paper. I feel like a lot of us learn better that way. It’s nice to see the videos but I remember things so much better when i actually write them down.Appalachained and x1Heavy Thank this.

Awesome.
I was thinking also of the wide range of people in that class too. I think there was 22 of us, 5 women, 6 felons from prison working on a bright new future and there was 3 who were old hands that got their class A back for one reason or another and the rest including myself was just a assorted riff raff off the street.
They all passed that class and did well. I will tell you that each and every one of us was challenged in ways not considered by everyone at one or two points during our time together in school. It was a different time then, you could say things or do things to each other and not be arrested, sued, accused of hurting feewlings, chased by the special other or what have you.
I asked a very stupid question one day, (this is a example) during my first Pretrip class and it had to of all things ask the instructor how do you know if the 5th wheel has grease. Wal there was actual silence in heaven about 30 minutes as the face of that instructor increased in many lines and wrinkles thinking on the problem. I was beginning to think he was going to hand us some sort of golden scroll of knowledge from the Arch Angel Michael (I should not joke... ) when he lit up, took my hand and slapped it into the 5th wheel plate.
he he he. To this day Ive gone overboard on those 5th wheels.SplashDogs Thanks this.
