I tend to agree with part of this. Public companies have shifted their focus from long-term planning and sustainability (5, 10, 20-year plans, etc.) to meeting analyst's expectations for the next quarter. In light of that, anything that does not maximize shareholder value is ignored. Now, to be fair, meeting shareholder expectations is what management must do, both ethically and legally. But it has changed the landscape and helped create this massive financial gulf. To compound the problem a lot of wealth is not really "working," it is only creating more wealth.

There is a significant problem in the world with wealth inequality but it isn't the top 1% vs the top 99%. It's the top 40% vs the bottom 60%.

    #### Oxfam charities are bigger rent seekers than most of the worst of the 1% at this point. If you want to see what's really going on read this: https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/our-biggest-economic-social-political-issue-two-economies-ray-dalio/

So yeah. Nobody is being victimized, but the economy does have a wealth distribution problem. I don't think it's right that worker productivity gains since the 80's haven't trickled down at all. I feel a lot worse for people who work hard and make 35-40k than I do for people who don't work at all and collect 15k in benefits.

The biggest barrier to a broad consensus on what we should do about the problem is the left's insistence that we not leave anyone out... Even people who are actively choosing to be lazy pieces of ####.

You should be careful how and where you position yourself and that there is some sort of "distribution problem". We better or for worse, we are becoming more "integrated" into a "global community". And if you're in the USA making $40k a year or more, you are "the 1%" in the eyes of others living elsewhere across the globe. And now you're on record saying there's a "wealth distribution problem"?

It’s funny how no one talked about the wealth gap while Barry O was in charge , but now that trump is cranking up the economy , let’s hear all the wealth inequalities and homeless news stories we can stand , throw in some starving children and abandon starving kittens and puppies just for good measure

There is nothing wrong with learning by rote. Gratefully, I deal with youth vs adults who know all and poo poo others that don't. Reach one teach one.

    Perhaps it is "working."

Where was you during his tenure? Daily news reports were about how the unfortunate poor where being left behind because rich people and business owners didn't increase wages. 8 years of ####ting on the wealthy third not paying their far share or doing their part

That's absolutely not true. The Democrats loved talking about it then and now. It's a campaign issue for them. I'd bet you a thousand dollars that I could make a video of Barack Obama himself saying income inequality 100 different times in under 24 hours.
