Day Cab Or 44" Sleeper

    Hello im looking for some suggestions on whether or not to buy a small sleeper for my 1hr break/nap? during the day and also going regional nj/ny runs or just stay local and do "day cab" work I would mainly want to get the sleeper to rest during the day maxing out my hours every week so gets tiring been company for 2 years looking to follow in my uncles footsteps by leasing on to big company any input would be great thank you

    Same as ez rider. Don't forget it also gives you some storage area inside of having stuff crammed everywhere. 48 would be plenty for what you are talking about.

    Im looking at glider kits and i think thompson has the best prices for what i doing going to be a peterbilt 388 but they dont say how much more a 44 or 48" sleeper would be does anyone know those numbers or is there some nice used gliders with same specs

    Since it seems you already have a run..
    How tight is the areas around the docks? If you have room, go with the sleeper to give you more options. Who knows, you might get the urge to go OTR for a few weeks every year....

    Sleeper.
    You never know what will happen tomorrow, so a sleeper always helps.
    And if your 1 hour break turns into 4 or 5, would you rather be cooped up in a seat or in a bunk?

    when i had my 42 inch flat top fld with setback axle i could get in and out of anywhere a day cab could. gives you more flexability more interior storage room. and a place to stretch out while your waiting if you need/want. weight is the only downside to a sleeper and even that is minimal.

    i will be hauling fuel so in and out and being leased to a fuel hauler there back to back turns i would only go over 1hr if i didnt hear the alarm clock lol im leaning towards sleeper berth i just needed the nudge to get there Im pretty sure the added length wont be an issue with turns or backs either does anyone know if i need to worry about my weight in this situation adding the sleeper I know they haul lp with sleeper to ny/nj but with the gas and diesel i dont know if it poses an issue?

    If you're going with a new truck just spec a back window in the bunk. 388 Pete with a shorter wheelbase and a 48" bunk with a window will be fine hauling fuel.
