Where are you? Hotel? Home? Truck at a terminal or outside shop?

Does the company have a breakdown pay policy?

C & C and Steel Dragon Thank this.

He's probably at a "mom and pop" outfit with 3 trucks and paid on a 1099 or otherwise if W2, get's no other added benefits. So, in that case, no, you're just out an income. I have little empathy for those running for small outfits. For the few perks, you have to be willing to accept the many downsides. But hey, the trucks run 75 so there's that.

After the discussion of breakdown pay, you know...that conversation you had where they told you that they were not going to pay you for breakdowns, you should have IMMEDIATELY lined up the next gig.

BUT, (big butt too), you didn't. And there is a reason why you didn't. And this is the troublesome part. See, any driver with experience and a clean record, can get another job. And he knows that. You hesitate...

What's got you worried? Did you tear the truck up? Pre employment drug screen? If they didn't try to negotiate with you some sort of breakdown pay, they don't really like you.

    Ignore the truth?

Listen,.. I've been where the OP is. I came back into trucking after a 15 yr hiatus. I went to work for a 1099 tyrant. Sucked it up for 12 months. Then I quit. I abandoned his truck 3000 mi from his home terminal. I then went to work for another 1099,.. but much much better company owner and went from company driver to O/O and still leased on with said company today. I also have 2 trucks now with my own driver. It all boils down to how hard are you willing to work in order to succeed?

There is a reason people dont leave when they know they are in a bad situation. Usually because they have burned too many bridges or have no other recourse to turn to. I knew what I was getting into and what I would have to put up with. I dealt with it,.. I am better for it,.. I've come a long way since then.

This is the reality. Say the OP was working for a warehouse stocking shelves. Friday comes and there is no pay check. You have a choice. Keep working for free or find another job. Now if next Friday comes and you still dont have a paycheck and are still reporting to work on Monday. Well,...

Sorry the OP is in that situation. But he knows his choices. Suck it up or move on. Too many company owners will take advantage of naive drivers if you allow it.

Ear tickler. How about some cornbread language?

Someone says, "I haven't been paid in TWO weeks, what should I do?

QUIT TWO WEEKS AGO is the number one answer. He knows that. That's first impulse. Right?

He didn't quit. Why not? Any experienced driver could find another job in nothing flat. He knows that, this isn't his first rodeo. So telling him to quit really isn't helping, is it? Either he has a bad driving record or he can't pass a pre employment drug screen for at least another two weeks. How do you help someone whose withholding pertinent info?
