Hey guys. Have an 04 peterbilt 379 that needs all new bushings in the suspension and some hood parts. I was wondering where y'all get the besides the dealer? I have all the oem part numbers from peterbilt. They want 4k for it all.
Where do you buy parts?

Amazon, eBay or Google the part numbers and see which independent retailers may sell the same part.
I've actually found and purchased alot of OEM parts for automobiles and semi trucks on eBay for much cheaper than the stealership or Amazon.Last edited: Jan 28, 2018
Justrucking2, Dirty-Low-Walker, BoxCarKidd and 1 other person Thank this. -
Used to buy a lot of suspension parts through Napa/Traction. Our local store will actually bend new u-bolt for us too.

I have had good luck on EBay too, just recently i purchased a HVAC control for my W900 for $325 free shipping and no tax, dealer wanted over $200 more, purchased a davco 382 fuel pro brand new for $199.
Amazon doesn't seem to have much for trucks, and if they do the prices seem the same as a dealershipboneebone Thanks this. -
Not sure why I didn't think of ebay..

FleetPride. They should be able to cross reference all those parts with the oem numbers. Save you lots of money.Justrucking2, Dirty-Low-Walker and WREN Thank this.

I find a lot of stuff here some times at better price than anywhere else, peterbiltparts.com

eBay is where I do 99.9% of my purchases, plus no sales tax, mostly free shipping, you earn eBay Bucks on every purchase and you're covered by eBay Buyer Protection.
I think Amazon is overrated, they usually charge sales tax and shipping for just about everything and their prices are usually the same as retail.
I think back in the day their prices were competitive with eBay, but now it's rare that I purchase something from Amazon.Dirty-Low-Walker Thanks this. -
I have had a few issues the past year, one was a led light purchase that one light was faulty, after contacting the seller the seller agreed to take it back but didn't send me a shipping tag, they argued that returns were to be paid by the purchaser, which is true if you are returning it but it was defective so in EBay rules the seller pays for shipping, the seller stated he sent me a shipping tag but didn't, i sent a message to EBay, they sent me a shipping tag and a refund because they knew he lied because they can go into the conversations between buyer and seller and seen the shipping tag wasn't sent.
That seems to be rare though, i have purchased over 500 items and never lost money on any of them, just had a couple of items delayed or returned.boneebone Thanks this. -
Fleetpride is where I bought my suspension parts. I had the suspension U-bolts made locally at a shop. Try price matching too. I will get FleetPride price and take it to dealer if there are stock or availibility issues. Most times my dealer will match the price. I had to do that on the torque rods.
