Thread is great entertainment! FYI - Freightliners outnumber all other trucks for sale on the market by a mile. Here is a pop quiz - what kind of engine is in most Freightliners??? DETROIT That will make the largest number of engines on the market Detroit Diesels.

Not for O/O's

I read something that Bruce wrote about 16 years ago. He was avocating water injection for diesels.
Then he went on to clam that he was going to get BTU value out of the water. He said that water is made out of hydrogen and oxygen. And hydrogen and ox burn.
I knew right then that he was a moron.
Water is already burnt. To unburn water requires energy. It takes the same amount of energy to crack the hydrogen and oxygen apart as you get when you burn it again.
This is known as the "Law of conservation of energy"
It is closely related to "The first law of thermodynamics" -
MAN..........you have far to much time on you hands.........Lonely......No friends....?????...I think so

I heard a rumor that the last ship date of any on road cat engine is going to be march 1st 2009. The last order date is going to be around the end of january 2009.

Nahhhhhhh,
Just real serious about what I do for a living. -
Water injection DOES WORK HATE TO TELL YOU THIS. THE GERMANS BRITISH AND AMERICANS ALL USED IT IN WW2 ON FIGHTERS FOR THAT EXTRA BLAST OF POWER TO GET THEM EITHER THE HELL OUT OF DODGE OR TO GET THEM INTO RANGE TO SHOOT DOWN SOMEONE. ALSO THE ME 262 USED IT FOR EXTRA POWER HATE TO TELL YOU THAT HOFFA READ YOUR HISTORY BOOKS.

So are the rest of us......Thats why we are here.CaterpillarWrench Thanks this. -
I would have to disagree. He is one of the smartest people I have met. He is, and always has been, right on the money when it comes to power. My 3406B puts out around 800 horse thanks to Bruce. The gain: an increase of 1 mpg consistently, cooler exhaust temps, smoother idle, and a truck that is a pleasure to drive. I've run his setup for a year and a half now. It's not all about blowing people's doors off with the power crowd, it's about the relaxing cruise over any terrain!
And please check your history books! Water injection HAS been around long before Bruce has!550hpW900L Thanks this.
