The inflexible HOS are causing real issues in automotive freight. It is all just in time, and the hours are 24/7. Problem is, coordinating for delays is near impossible. So, lanes are being dropped and suppliers are scrambling. Good for us, as that is what we do, save the day. But, we can't always be there either. I think in 6 months or less the HOS will be revisited and this will be fixed. At least I hope so, as it is driving me nuts playing beat the clock to try to stay legal when I don't go anywhere.

Leave the HOS alone my exempt truck and I are making a lot of money cleaning up the mess...

If you want it moved in a timely fashion it will cost you....

KANSAS TRANSIT, Justrucking2 and Oxbow Thank this.

    Gooooooooood morning Stan !

People get so bent over the exemption, we aren’t doing anything wrong our trucks all have exempt motors and are 100% legal.
The owner is a cop BTW.

Oxbow and KANSAS TRANSIT Thank this.

Issues for the drivers benefit in a lot of cases.
Brokers have to pay up if they want it moved.
Now if you’re being paid mileage that’s another story, percentage is good for now.

    Oxbow Thanks this.

Morning Mike, snowing like hell here and it was 60 yesterday!!! lol

I never said anybody was doing anything wrong, but "if" push comes to shove I could easily see a suit over "exemptions" not being fair and level? Those are not my words, just echoing what I was told?

Tall Mike and Justrucking2 Thank this.

Not really benefiting the drivers, the ones I have spoken with have taken pay cuts as most are hourly. They miss the overtime.

    Tall Mike Thanks this.

First off, it was mandated in a MAP21 bill from Congress. Trump can’t just stop the mandate with the swipe of a pen. The only people that can change the mandate is Congress in another bill.

Tall Mike and Justrucking2 Thank this.
