I have been with Landstar as well. They have gone down hill just like Mercer has.
I can say, picking my own loads seeing the rates etc. has me wondering what the real problem is the gal that says AW Trans sucks. My questions to her are: Were you looking to go somewhere pacific? There is cheap rates every where, Landstar and Mercer boards had plenty of cheap freight rates. Why did you take such bum loads?
Did you ever ask questions to the dispatcher about the loads? Weight, rate, where to, gross pay to the truck? You can get screwed good anywhere if you don't ask questions.
Are they a forced dispatch system? They say they aren't, but that means nothing in my book. I have been in that situation before: turn down a load, and get punished like a little kid, and get no load all day. Fees hidden? What fees? I am planning on going here, I would like some pacific's on these hidden fees and how much?
They claim 84% of gross line haul, and paid same day; are they using a factoring company? You have a choice of being paid same day or on Thursdays. Same day pay after delivery is sweet, Mercer does this. Did you lease a truck from this Bush Leasing? Trucks junk or what? AW Trans requires 5 years experience and will help with the 2500 down. I just can't see a trucking out fit making sure nobody makes money with such tight requirements such as five years experience. By then, a driver should have a good idea what to look for in a company that draws a red flag. Doesn't make sense with such strict requirements to be approved and giving a driver the 2500.00 down to get your own truck, and it is yours in 36 months. I want my own truck, once I own this lease truck, I am trading it in for newer truck and moving forward. Let's face it, all these truck companies in general are scrupulous and none are good. It boils down to if you can make things work. I only found this one complaint with other mixed reviews about this AW Trans, and again, all these truck companies in my opinion are corrupt and will rip you off. Just gotta find one that fits your okay's they rip me off here but scenarios, I can live with that screwing. Because they all do screw us.

. You wanna get burned, try Quality Leasing and Celadon or Schneider, Swift, they all suck. I wouldn't give these mega carriers ####. If I saw one of their CEO's broke down out side of Death Valley dehydrated and bleeding to death, I would honk and wave.

    Dear Atruckerswife02,
You've never applied or worked for AW transport. Your husband was terminated for safety violations (bad roadside inspections) and late pick ups and deliveries. He had his own reefer that continuously broke down and you borrowed money from AW Transport in order to repair it. The money you owed AW Transport was more than you had in your escrow account and we ended up losing money. Your husband averaged $2.31/mile during your short contract with AW. Your claim that he averaged .80/mile with a reefer is absurd, there ins't a single reefer load in the United States that will pay 80 cents per mile, let alone have an average of 80 cpm over 30 or so loads - you'd go bankrupt after a few loads. The reason you post falsehoods against AW is this: YOU DO NOT HAVE A CDL, YOU ARE NOT A TRUCKER AND YOU KNOW NOTHING ABOUT TRUCKING. Please stay out of trucking forums, you're embarrassing yourself.
P.S. Remember your husband's absurd request to his dispatcher not to send him into Florida? He had a reefer and refused to go to Florida, remember, wanted to drive between Denver and Texas only??? And you're out here making things up about AW. Get a life.

Who the hell wants to run between TX & CO? There's always 3 sides to every story. His side, her side and the truth in the middle.
