1. Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.

This is what most of the companies do...That shows you how drivers are respected. I hope you packed up and went home. I was in your boat, I had to have work done on the truck and had to go to the terminal anyway (they only have one RTI) I was ready to leave so I packed my stuff loaded up the ($1000)cash car I bought to have at the yard to be able to have a way out later (paid off)...And drove back to Dallas. I was not under a load but they still put it on dac as quit under dispatch. I ran about 3200 miles a week under one dispatcher and he quit and then I got a human robot who gave me about 1600-2000 miles a week... "YOU HAVE TO DO WHAT YOU HAVE TO DO WHEN YOU ARE ABLE TO IT"....Dont let trucking companies bully you it wont matter anyway what they will still get you by usind dac. Just don;t leave a truck somewhere other than a terminal best advice is take it back where you pick it up from and get someone like a mechanic to walk with you look at the truck and sign a liitle peice of paper saying the truck is in good shape and leave!

as much as i hate to say it.. YES leave on good terms... most future employers will contact them for 10 years!!! and it will show on DAC.

something else to think about if you quit most employment agencies will not let you collect unemployment,

BUT if your fired then it looks like you "tried" to do your part and wanted to stay, and you usually CAN get unemployment untill your next gig..
    Good luck !!!!

I have worked in other industries, and have always given two weeks notice. But it seems like in this industry, you can' t do the honorable thing. Seems like you get the shaft no matter what you do. I always gave notice, sometimes they apreciate it and others can't be descent about it. Bunch of babies,{ owners and supervisers}.
