All good. It's not like I'm heading out to Iraq for months at a time anymore. Superior also gets me home when I ask to be home. They don't call me at home for anything either.
Going out for a 5 day system run and it isn't an issue. I'll run a longer time after our weekend.spindrift Thanks this. -
Loaded at Colonial in Wilmington, then drove 340 miles to take a 10 hr break at a Flying J. Will do 350 tomorrow and stage at a Loves 11 miles from my delivery due Wed Morning. I'll check with dispatch to see if they'll take it a day early since I plan to be 11 miles away with 5 or so hours of clock left.
That'd set me up for a quick load back towards NC. -
What are the kinds of loads you've been hauling?
-
Castor oil today. I haul acid and castor oil a lot, but also latex type crap. I did haul snot a month ago to a coal mine. That junk is no fun to unload.
-
Didn't get the acid load, but it all works out. I'm 12 miles from my delivery in the morning. After unloading, I run a little over 200 empty to tank wash in W Memphis. That'll conclude tomorrow's activities. I can off duty drive somewhere after.
I'll hang around either a truck stop or the Memphis terminal until I find out my new load is ready. Then I off tail drive to go get a preloaded tank, but get paid to load it.
Then off to Morrow GA to offload the following morning and run 400 ish empty to tank wash in Wilmington.
Not how it would normally work, but I had to be home for Saturday. -
I’ll be out in Memphis tomorrowMortarmaggot Thanks this.

Mortarmaggot do you run a lot of high empty miles, also do you know if you get hired at one terminal can you transfer to another terminal within the system?
-
You can transfer terminals but its not automatic like at a mega. Both Terminal managers and corporate need to agree to it. It you are moving in the future its best to communicate that to all parties going in. Terminals at Superior are like individual small companies. They compete with each other sometimes and work with each other at other times.
-
The transfer thing was covered. I do want to move to the mountains in a few years and told them that going in. I figure if I'm doing well, they wouldn't want a system driver anywhere.
I am doing a lot of empty this trip due to the way I chose the run with return date. Normally I have less far than 5℅ empty miles.
