Hello,
I am curious if anyone has any experience capturing brake pressure and steering wheel angle while using a data acquisition system connected to the CAN BUS of a newer Freightliner semi truck and if you have could you please comment on the accuracy of these readings and point me in the direction of the product that you were using? Thanks!

I have a recording of a 2015 cascadia, on 9 pin J1939 connector.
I did find Brake primary pressure and brake secundary presurre, but not the brake application pressures, nor steering wheel angle.
Yellow marked was available.
As I mentioned before, this was taken from the 9 pin diagnostic connector. You may find more on different CAN-busses, but I don't have recordings of them.TJ11111 Thanks this. -
The tools I use on CAN-bus are either Peak PCAN-USB (with Peak PCAN-view software), Elbas Ucint (with Ucint Suite CAN Trees) or Nexiq USB-link2 (with Nexiq Device Tester software or Cummins Insite).
I like the Peak because it can also actively send messages (that you can create) onto the CAN-bus.
TJ11111 Thanks this. -

Very cool.
Actually the modern version of a hacker is thought of as an evil force.
The traditional hacker, (as in “he is just a hack”), is someone with the curiosity to try and figure out how things work, and how to make them better, but doing it with no formal training or education in the area. -
