Bob Dobalina Thanks this.

If someone is only averaging 44mph there's a deeper issue.
I've never sat in enough traffic to drive my trip avg to 44 over 1100 miles.
I rarely top 70... it's a fuel waste.
(and yes... I can)
Lots of drivers complain about not making money, but they lack the inner drive to GO.
You see them, like I do. Can't go past a truck stop without whipping in for a Mtn Dew and a Little Debbie snack cake.
All that stopping and starting WILL drive your average down.
When it's go time... it's go time. You can still do it safely. Just keep the door closed.Powder Joints Thanks this. -

The most miles ever was 875 in a 63 mph truck. I was teaming, and my co-driver and I got into a little pissing match. I "won." Our log books did not.
Nowadays, everything is strictly by the book, not even remotely illegal. I drive 300-650 miles in a 68 mph truck on runs that are either hourly or mileage. I like it.alds Thanks this. -
MACK E-6 Thanks this.

The run I do now is 472 miles at .5975/mi. I work 8.5 hours and I go home. not a bad run.

Coming back is a different story though, thanks be to the aforementioned morons. -
A little bit of legal precision.
NOICE. NOICE and NOICE.alds Thanks this. -
I seem to average 350 miles per day, @ 5 days per week and I do pretty well.
