Trans Am lease

I am no fan of lease purchase myself but I have never worked for Trans-Am and do not presume to know everything about every lease purchase out there. The ones I have checked into are definitely stacked in the companies favor but drivers seem to sign up for them regardless. I for one would like Wacklin to continue to give us all details about his experiences with Trans Am.

This will give us all an inside look into this particular company without actually having to work there ourselves.

I wish you luck Wacklin. Some drivers do in fact seem to make lease deals work while others fail miserably. Please continue to give us all the inside "scoop" if you will. A few more questions if you don't mind;

What is the pay rate for a lease operator?

How is the pay calculated? Percentage or mileage? If mileage calculated using which program?

Do you get any accessories pay?

Fuel surcharge? Does the lease op get 100% pass thru?

How much is the lease payment per week?

What kind of warranty did you get on the truck?

What other charges do they deduct from your weekly settlement? ex; Qualcomm, Trip pak, Pre-Pass, Ez-Pass, trailer rental, maintenance account, reefer fuel, fuel tax, road use taxes, administrative fees, etc..

 

np i have been truckin since 94 and dont fall for anything if it doesnt work i know where the door is.
I have been a o/o before but the bottom has fell out of cars you cant hardly get a good paying load anymore so i thought id go back to old school and see what happens. problem is now that its slow all over so you take what you can till other things pop .

 

Well good luck hope it works out for you man it would be nice for someone to actually make money and have their own truck paid for instead of being screwed by a company.

 

Profile says driving 14 yrs, more like steering wheel holder for 14yrs. Don't know tire size and oh yea it's got a yellow motor, but he sure knows the watts on the inverter. Better get a good feel for the inside of that truck, you probably will be spending alot of time in it.

How much is Trans Am paying per mile or is percentage?

How much is the fuel surcharge? Do they pay 100% of it to the lease op?

How much is his truck payment?

What other charges Does Trans-Am deduct from your settlement?

What things does Trans-Am include with their lease programs? Plates, permits, discounted insurances, fuel taxes, road use taxes (who pays for them and how much), workers comp, etc.

There are allot of details he could offer which would make this thread truly informative.

 

Gotta put in my 2 cts.worth here.If you wanna ba an O/O go buy a truck and lease on with your favorite company. If you go for a lease purchase program ,you are asking for trouble. Its not all that hard to buy a good truck thru a reputible dealer and get good financing.And if your credit is that bad and you cant swing a deal,you have no business trying to be on your own. Harsh words,YES,but they are very true. I have seen way too many people get on the lease purchase deal,and at first they seem to get good miles. Then after a while something happens. They dont get enough miles to make their lease payment ,the guess what? So the company leases your lost truck to someone else,and the same thing happens to them. If you wanna be an O/O go to it in the right way,and buy your own truck. That way if things dont go right you can move on to another comany. On the lease purchase program you are bound to one company til the unit is paid off,if that ever happens.And it very seldom does. So my reccomendation is if you are bound and determined to be an O/O start shopping around for a truck. I have been a company driver,and an O/O so I speak with some experience behind me. And yeah,I bought my trucks thru a dealer and leased them on with a company,and made out pretty good. But hey,its your money and your life.

I think there are to many whiner's that go into lease's , and they didn't expect to have to work hard for it , somehow the company is supposed to give you special treatment. If you run hard and don't get on the crybaby list with dispatch you'll make it.
