Do all cat dealers keep service records in to the same system? For example should a cat dealer be able to look up work performed at any cat dealer?

It is avalible to any Cat dealer as long as it was done under warranty. If it was not under warranty you would need to track down that specific dealer for info.
I looked up your s/n and nothing shows upSAR Thanks this. -
I see no history of an overhaul.
Engine warranty started in 1995. No history since then. -
I know this is an old thread but Im new here. Thinking of buying a used truck with 6nz. Could anyone here run the serial number and give me some insight on the service history, please??? Serial number is: 6NZ62690

No history on it. 15069hrs in 2010. Feb 02 2018 listed 1749 hours so either ecm was replaced or it is a misprint. Either way nothing to worry about.

Be funny if someone just bought a truck and asked for information on serial #6NZ86429. I'd say hey, that's my old engine. You got a great engine, at least it was the last time I drove it
Oxbow Thanks this. -
What about this one 5EK70551

A few claims in 1997, nothing since
Oxbow, SAR and TankerYankerD001 Thank this.
