Regional OTR is "extra board". Starting pay is like .5725. Jackson is a good spot because it's between Memphis and Nashville which are both big terminals that push freight. I'd say expect around 2500 miles a week. You don't need to run 500000000 miles a week to make 1K lol. Very laid back company. Apply immediately. Jackson is a small terminal so the less bosses the better.

Basically 5 days out 2 of (34 hour reset). Now I'll tell you idk how your terminal will do it, but Memphis is lax as a mug. I supposed to get home Wednesday morning, but I'm usually here Tuesday morning or evening. Then I leave Friday. I prefer to work over the weekend because you can basically choose whatever you want to run.

When it's time to go home, they will send you home. They don't care if you DH 600 miles empty with a set, 53, or 48. They will send you home and your time starts when you get home. There have been times where I got home Monday and didn't go back to work Friday. (My choice)

Don't forget - you stay in hotels on your 10 rather than in a sleeper. One big perk over "OTR" as most people know it.

I actually don’t think it’s a perk. I think it’s better to sleep in a sleeper among your own stuff.

I get your point, but the perk of bobtailing to a hotel is that finding parking is never a problem (which would be more difficult with a sleeper hooked to doubles), you get to watch cable TV when you wake up, and you can grab a shower easier and never have to wait for it. The biggest bonus is that you never have to smell a urine-coated lot in the middle of summer and you don't have to worry about a rookie putting on a backing clinic for 20 minutes that blocks your way out of the truck stop.

More than anything else, I think the biggest drawback to staying in hotels is the risk of getting bedbugs. Those drivers need to take precautions.

Yep. I just started a new job. Stuck in a repair place where they don’t have a computer to reset the check engine light on a Cascadia and headed up to Chicago.. gonna be stuck in traffic and then not gonna have anywhere halfway decent to park.. back up on i65 showing right now..

First day. Gonna be a fun day and evening!
