Honestly, I have read the horror stories, but I have never felt the need to either entirely read all of them or even make any changes. It all just happened so fast and no one ever burned me really. The couple (out of a LOT) that were well over 60 days out and needed talked to a few times....well nothing in a carrier packet would change that. But I have never run for them again and they are written on my board forever.
I read the horror stories...but I ask a lot of questions to the broker...use email almost 100%....and learn from the few bad experiences. Brokers, except for a few, have been great with me and really no hassles but a few after 4 years.
The biggest hassle is carrier packets LOL
Carrier packet service?

I guess I need to get hip on this cam scan and and adobe fill and sign. I had just gotten burned out on tech and out of I.T. when I got back in to flatbedding.
-
We had a service when I got a few drivers running hard, but it was getting to be a hassle with them, they didn't do a good job asking questions and we got burned a bit so we now do it in house.
Mattflat362 Thanks this. -
just found out about this forum. I can give a contact number for a trucking company I have been working with for the past almost year.

If you want any further info, feel free to email me @deja.amos718@yahoo.com. -

I have a folder created on my phone with w9, letter of authority and insurance. When new packet comes, I use Adobe fill and sign app. App saves info typed before, so it makes it very easy to fill out a new packet. Finish the packet and email together with the saved docs. All together takes like 5 min for an easy contract.
You don't want to have someone else do it for you, because there sometimes stupid terms in those contracts and you need to read them yourself and ask them to change it if you don't like those terms
Gotta have an Android phone, iPhone does not have a file browserwhoopNride and Mattflat362 Thank this. -
Being a 20 year tech you would think I would be all over this! And I normally would be.....but just got back in to trucking because I was burned out in I.T.....now the two go hand in hand! Go figure!
I have been trashing crapple for 20 years so no worries on that part! -
There is not enough money laying around to feed those kinds of services.
For set up and signing Rate Confirmations Adobe Fill and Sign would do the trick.
The procedure looks like this:
1. You receive a Broker Carrier set up in your email
2. You take your phone turn the hotspot on and create your own WIFI
3. Connect to it with your laptop
4. Download the document into the download folder in (Windows System)
5. Open it with Adobe Fill and Sign app
6. Fill it out and place your signature, save it (better to a different folder with a name of your choice - broker_setups, for instance). I save it to a cloud.
7. Attach it to an email message and reply to a broker.
I do have a printer inside the truck but rarely use it, mostly to print an extra BOL in case a shipper gives me only one copy.
I can go through all the above steps with my phone only. With an Android phone it takes a little getting used to as its folder/file management is tricky and counter intuitive. But this can be done from a laptop with ease.. For Samsung Note users - the one with a pen attached, there is a Samsung app called "Write on PDF" which is useful. Genius Scan app I use for the purpose of scanning BOLs and PODs - it will let you create multiple page pdfs too. After the pdf is scanned, from withing the phone, I upload it to a cloud...I use One Drive that comes with MS Office but there is Google Drive one almost every phone. Then you can access the files from everywhere.loudtom and Mattflat362 Thank this. -
I use an iPhone with something like what you described. Not sure if its called a file browser, but sounds like the same way mine works. Pretty handy!
