Sure, until it rains.

Somehow I don’t think Mr. DOT man would appreciate seeing those.snowman_w900 and Banker Thank this. -
I come across a steel hauler at the loves inn Sparta Kentucky about 6 months ago, both sets of tires on the passenger side trailer were slicker than all get out, when I mentioned it to him, his reply was "this is my god #### truck and trailer, mind your own ####in business" this guy was easily in his 50s with a garbage looking Pete.
Zeviander Thanks this. -
More nerve than me! Used to see some pretty scary stuff around the mills in Detroit area too. Or Gary ind. Stuff that makes you step away as your walking by in case the trailer breaks in half that instant or the tire blows.

Some people just can’t handle any helpful hints from others. You know that guy knew exactly what his tires looked like. He’s also the guy that comes on forums like this belly-achin bout how DOT hassles him for no reason. When he tried to give DOT the same response. Lol
Zeviander Thanks this. -
May have been the same truck. It was just north of Sparta. I didn't talk to the driver.cke Thanks this.

Big un and a little un!

Ya thats about as narrow as l like too. It was 24" inches. I actually put a 3rd chain on it after l took the picture because of how narrow it was. The inner tie down tracks of the newer trailers would be nice in this case.
cke Thanks this. -
I've done one that was, as memory serves, about twenty inches across and taller than I am. Got more chains than I usually do for weight, as well as two (well protected) straps over and around the top to help stabilize it against tipping in curves. Still wasn't keen on having it loaded that way.
