    Seriously though I’d be anxious to hear your thoughts on that radio as I’m starting to get the itch for something different.

    My ancient 490HP —->> rf power all the way up mic gain at 1 o’clock.

    Okay cool. I just bought a Astatic D104 M6B amplified microphone it'll arrive this Monday. I think I'll run the D104 microphone setting on the back of the microphone on setting 2 to see how it sounds like.

    All depends Mike on what kind of radio you want...I like my Stryker 655 it works really well. If you want the Stryker 497 it's a very nice radio but it doesn't have the frequency LCD display.

    Yep the 655 comes with quite a nice mic. I tried a couple other mics with my 655 and always come back to the stock mic

    I had a D-104 M6B microphone before with my Magnum S-9 radio few years ago before I went away from the CB radio hobby and they sounded great together. So I am hoping that the D-104 microphone will go well with the Stryker 655.

    Hope you find a good combo. Ive received lots of compliments on my 655. Unfortunately I only drive a random weekend once in a while so I only use the Stryker in the 4 wheeler now
