Best way to avoid the bugs is to call hotels. I don't always stay at the ones they recommend. Most times they are good, but a few are literally trash imo.

You mean you don’t enjoy that?

Careful. One member here seems to be of the opinion that those of us who would rather not have to dodge urine puddles and piles of human feces at truck stops think our #### don’t stink.

I don't think I'm better than anyone else, I just think I found a better way for me. If someone enjoys the "trucker lifestyle" and all that goes with it then more power to them. God knows we need them.

All that ceased being an adventure and lost its romantic appeal to me a long time ago. Trucking is just a job now, but I still love it. I just enjoy it more when I'm not hauling my bed behind me.

The hotel thing has me curious. After enough runs, do you find that you get by the same hotels until they become familiar and part of the routine?

I'm also thinking hotels with mini-gyms would be great for drivers then be able to shower up without waiting in line lol.

I wonder though what happens if you night drive? Are you stuck paying for 2 nights if you sleep through normal check out time?

    Good question.

Those drivers might use the bunk rooms at the terminals.

The hotels we use just charge a flat rate seems like most of the time but my company doesn't act like it's a big deal if they get charged twice since hotel stays are a tax write off is my guess

I don't sleep at terminals. I sleep strictly at hotels. In time you'll learn which ones you'll like the most and which ones to avoid.
