Here in Texas most people get paid by the ton. Do you think mileage is better and how much weight do you normally carry.
-

Kinda miss hauling logs.Sure was fun most of the time.We cut and exported alot of hardwoods so I also did the port thing-not as much fun.Not much fun inside of a container in the dark with a canhook spinning logs and staying out of the way at the same time.I liked being outside and running all of the little pigpath roads around virginia.

logging is slowing down in MI as well.
All the trucks around here charge per ton, per mile...
And the only way to make money, is running heavy, around 180-200K... 25-27 cord on the deck. -
Right now the rate is about 3.25 a mile for anything over 50 miles minum haul pays about 135.00 ...we used regular stick wagons some double bunk trailers

you run under your own authority
