new to trucking and got the shaft.

    Hi all I have only been driving for 3.5 mo. but I have found out just how bad the big companies are. If anyone is thinking about going with USA
    truck., do not do it. Here is so backround on me first. I am 51 and have always worked hard and long hrs. I owned my own companys for 15yrs.
    In the service and custom field. I am a lic. tech
    , master tech in mi. I always wanted to try trucking so here I am.
    training at C-1 ft wayne was ok . on road with driver trainer usa truck was
    good. but now comes the bad
    . got first truck solo with usa. picked it up at abf yard would not run dead.
    had to wait until 07:am for road service. after 2hrs jump/charge got truck running. but nothing worked in side no heat ,lights or anything. reported it to ft manager was told to drive anway. was sent on load assign. had to wipe windshield with towel to see no defrost. pickup load to to ohio. then
    they tried to send me to ct. I sent macro32 breakdown. after disputting it for 2hrs they had me drive truck to terminal for repair. sat for a week and nothing other them in side electrical system got fixed. had to show the shop all the dot issues I found and fight with them to fix.got truck back
    went to ky got half way and exhaust filled cab. sent macro was told to drive back. over next 3 weeks the truck brokdown every other day. sat for days trying to get fixed. after fighting with fleet over truck. and calling safty go newer truck.now comes the ******* sent down south 853 or
    so miles then ran back and forth 200 to 250 miles in la and tx.2 weeks then
    night disp. sent to ct spent week in ct got 350 miles then sent to tn by night disp. atleast night system go me to another state ft manager was being a d. I do not play games and do not stand for disrespect like the
    issues the ft manager was giving me over phone.told him to send all over
    qualcom. he then started to tell me that he was my boss he will do what ever he wants. next issue was hometime was due the next day. I told dispath of my appt. and had to be there. the ft manager sent me the other
    way. I contacted his super and was told to get the load will set up swap
    I knew I would not get home on time after that. no swap set/ had to get night disp to set drop at terminal in oh. had to drive ill most of night to get
    home. was given no choice very important appt. meds. gave safty report
    next thing usa sent officer and wrecker service to home and took truck. to date still have not been contacted by safty on issues or anyone from usa
    got a pay check yesterday but no info about job. now looking for good co.
    to work for that respects the driver and wants drivers that will work for them long term not a job jumper

    At least you are in a good area, at least used to be. Start calling around. Most companies are on a hiring freeze or going tits up. Lots of competition out here right now for jobs. Good luck, and welcome to trucking. Been there, done that. But it can get better.

    this was just some issues there was alot more I could write a book on it. this is a warning stay away. some people will say they did not have any troubles they lie.
    most of the people I went to driving school with contact eachother all the time and all of us were or still are going through hell.even my trainer is having trouble
    and he has been with them for over 5 yrs.

    How do you know about other drivers? Posts like that saying others have lied saying they have had no problems makes you look unreliable with info. You are not a spokeperson for all the other drivers...:biggrin_2554:

    Sounds like you got sarted off bad, sorry bout your luck. Trucking companies are like churches in the respect that there are different ones for different people and some won't be happy at neither. I have worked for USA for 10mos. And I am very happy here, different strokes for different folks I guess. As far as being a liar......say what you want but you can't call me UNEMPLOYEED.........Lol

    From what I did read it sounds like you had a rough start.

    besides not having a job at USA, you now owe C-1 $5000.00 for your school fees, and because they sent an officer and a tow truck to get the vehicle you can bet you have an abandonment or worst on your DAC... will be next to impossible to find a "good" company now with only 3 + months of driving...

    as for the other drivers I started with not only do we talk on phone but we meet
    at truck stops and some have the same ft manager and are having same troubles
    that is FACT. also I bet that some of the drivers that like usa have had some kind of trouble. some can be worked out if your ft manager wants to work with you. mine did not and thinks he is god and has no one above him when it comes to the driver. I can prove all I say. note as for dac report well the macro messages will work to defend me and my attorny is checking on that. note. last message on macro told me to drop trailer at terminal and head home for home time.

    Also I have talked to alot of drivers in company at stops and terminals all of them I talked to have had some thing going on none said everything was great most are trying to deal with it. others have already left. all I wanted was a new ft manager and keep rolling. and you see what they did.
