I have been pulling double CA and rockie mountains for a long time. I believe most companies just want to make sure you have enough miles under your belt driviing truck. I have never had anyone make much of a deal either way, just lots of safe miles.

Most of the stuff I have read here sounds like t=it was written by thise whom have not pulled them. On CA doubles you pull them with a 2 axle tractor so you have the same number of axles as a semi, just arranged a little different. You really on worry about gross weight it very difficult to over axle a set of doubles, normally you break gross before that happens. As far as pretrip I don't care what you drive you should pretrip it every day and check it a couple times during the day. So that did not change either.

The biggest deal before you pull into a driveway you make sure you know whats there, not that easy when you have to back out, because you got lazy and did not check. Also truck stop parking is a little more interesting at times.
