Hey guys I'm seeking some info on a problem I'm having. I went to an orientation with usexpress about a week ago, when it came to the drug screen I submitted my sample, was told it came up hot for my temp. I explained I had been running a fever but the nurse wanted to do an observed in 30 mins, I told her it was no problem, sat down in lobby and chugged water, 15 mins into it I get a call from my wife saying she had gotten ran off the road, so I left not knowing that would count as a refusal, so I tried getting another job with USA trucking and was told that I couldn't be employed with a refusal. So I called hireright to check my dac one day ago and they reported there wasn't any drug/alcohol related incidents on my dac. I have never received an email or notification physical or electronically notifying my of a refusal being put on my dac. USA trucking knew that I was going to usexpress for before I went there so I'm confused as to why I would be turned down if there wasn't a report on my dac. The only thing USA truckimy sent in an email was a request/response report that had my info from usexpress. If I'd known about the refusal I wouldn't have left, am I screwed from being able to work as a trucker even though I've had my cdl for 2 weeks now?

I hope your wife is doing well. Was she hurt badly?
-
No, to be honest she was being a little dramatic. I was concerned cause my 3 and 5 year old were in the car as well, she just ended up going into a ditch no injuries. I got there and pulled the car out of the ditch and had a family member help me drive it back. I'm just concerned about being able to support my family, didn't know this is how cut throat this company was.

It’s not just that company. Leaving the test site is a refusal anywhere.

I'm tracking on that now, but at the time I didn't know that or else I would have just stayed then left. I'm simply just trying to get an answer.

Sounds like it hasn’t made it to your DAC yet. Call the company and ask them. You will probably have to do the SAP classes.

No worries, somebody somewhere will hire you. It might be a small mom and pop company but it will get you started. Heck, the smaller ones are sometimes the best ones anyway.

It's been 7 days since the incident happened. I wouldn't even know how to find the small pop and mom shops to be honest. I'm in tn and wouldn't even know how to tell if they use dac or mvr. My future goal is to become an owner operator. I just need somewhere to gain experience and be able to support my family is all.

I hear ya. The internet is the best place to start looking. Craigslist, Indeed, this website, Google. There is a ton of trucking companies out there in Tennessee and I would just start applying. Keep your eyes open when you’re out and about for yards and locally based companies. Best of luck!

Stop applying to #### companies. Best for you to wait for Chinatown to show up. He’ll have a list of companies that will give you a shot.
My two pieces of advice are that you never mention this “refusal” ever again and you never answer a question that hasn’t been asked when filling out applications in the future. Best of luck to you.sebe4848 Thanks this.
