I think ultimately, the problem is you have a Cummins engine in a Freightliner truck.

That's kinda like putting a Ford engine in a Chevy Silverado according to some mechanics -
i did park and turn truck off ,when i started back on the cc icon appear on the dash again but i did not notice high idling actually but i will check it next time, when the cc kicks in some time i can turn it off by pressing the switch some time it won't

My guess is a wiring issue. Could have a short to power or a short to ground causing the ECM to think the cruise control is on when it really isn't.

Park it at a comfortable place. Do a VRI on it and put it out of service.

clock spring in steering wheel... -
Wow, you need to bring it to the dealer who can figure out what's going on instead of guessing.

on my 2012 Cascadia they changed the throttle sensor, which is the whole peddle assbly. it did take care of that ,run away sensation when the cruse and jakes both are troublesome the clutch switch is one of the places that can cause both problems, they found the throttle sensor problem as a high idle falt is what they told me, I also had to change the Quantity Control valve for the throbbing idle problem, has taken a couple years to work these things out. now I found if I pull my foot out of it a little my lights come on less often, and make sure both oil and coolant temp are up, before putting it in 13th gear. my fuel mileage has jumped up wonder how long this is going to last, am sorry that I didn't catch the ISX part before, quantity control valve part disregard its a DD15 problem
