Triple 7,
Appreciate the best wishes, and the best to you. Keep all options open, man. You seem like a sharp person!

I worked for Con-Way for alost 2 years, after they closed down the service center I was working in they transfered me to one 50 miles away,
3 weeks later they waited untill I completed my daily job then told me I'm getting laid off, This really made me mad, that morning they had laid off 4 of my drivers < I call them my drivers due to we all worked at the same center for over a year> anyway they told them to go home soon as they got there, the thing that really made me mad was they waited untill 11pm to tell me my job there is done. I believe they did that due to they didnt want to do my job as a CSR. They laid off 3400 that week alone, then from I was told 1500 the following week, all this took place right before christmas. If they knew that all these ppl and myself was going to get laid off whay in the heck did they transfer us?? Personaly I think that was BS to do us like that and afew of "my drivers" drove over 100 miles one way just to turn around and have to go back home.
Anyone else get this done to them???
*Mad former CSR*

Sorry you got laid off but also hate to tell you that the way you got it is how most get it.Look at it this way you got a extra days pay. If they lay you off in the morning do you think you get paid for that day? Not hardly. It's a hard way to get the news but it's worse to drive to work and then get to drive back home 20 minutes later unpaid. 1 company I worked for 18 or so years ago called some of us in on Friday and told us we were being "bumped back" to a lower pay grade and if we didn't want it we needed to tell them "now".It was a $3.oo/hr pay cut or we could be laid off. Which one you want? need to know now! It's all business. And it is not fair or nice but it is how it is.
