to me,, you are as much a trucker as the rest of us. thing (to me) is that i see a truck every night. i see trucks on the highway, every night.

if i stop for a coffee, and a hot dog, at the truckstop, i see even more trucks and many times ignorant fuel island parkers, as well as dirty, grimey truckers at the cashiers line, trying to see if they can get a date with the cashier, who could give a darn.

i need not see any more of any of this, on my time off.

I thank you kindly for that, but I think this year it's more of a scheduling conflict than a money problem. Thanks just the same.

Keep checking nearby hotels daily for room openings due to cancellations. I managed to book a suite at the Crowne Plaza just a few weeks before the 2016 show for $282/night Thurs-Fri and then $211/night from Fri-Sat.

The worst part of MATS is that it is not really a trade show. MATS is open to the general public, anyone can buy a ticket to get in. A real trade show is limited to folks who can prove a connection to the industry, severely limiting the participation. But the quality of the attendees/vendors is much more focused. But the promoters don't make near as much money on a show that has limits. Follow the money.
When the big truck manufactures pulled out a couple of years ago that was their signal that it had deteriorated to one big party, they weren't talking to serious potential buyers.

I thought you all were making $10/mile ever since the elog law dropped. And the hotel room price for maybe 200 more than usual is going to make ya say you aren't going?

I enjoy them. See new stuff every year. Some of it stupid. Some cool stuff.

    Always love the show trucks.

Bigger turn out this year it seems like. Major truck manufacturers were here last year. Havent been inside to see if here this year.

It's free to park and sleep in truck. That's what I do. Walk over to cracker barrel for food.

Have a good load lined up in Louisville for Monday.
