Outworked most of them. BTW the Army is a ranked base thing, not a seniority based thing. And I was placed in jobs where "more senior in time in grade" then me. Because I out performed them.
When it came time for draw downs it wasn't me that was forced out, since it was based on records and merit. The most qualified stayed. Unlike a union.
Retired Army are you? What was your MOS?

You sir, are being less than truthful, and are dead wrong. Period.
Even in a union, if you don't perform, you're out. Just like that. And since the union jobs have so much more to offer than a non union job, there are plenty of guys on a backup 'list' that can't wait to take your place.
As a result, union guys are busting their tail.
Unlike yourself, I can back up my claims: Just go to any, and I do mean any, union LTL dock and watch all those lazy, protected guys show you how it's done.already gone, rabbiporkchop, De Trucker and 1 other person Thank this. -
When I worked construction we would bid on some jobs that required a certain percentage of our crew to be union. 8 man crew, two of them would have to be certified union. They we're pretty good at working the system. We would have to wake them up to tell them to go on break.
I understand not all are like this. Just please forgive us civilians for laughing at you guys and your "union breaks". LolLonesome, rabbiporkchop, spyder7723 and 1 other person Thank this. -
You are forgiven , now git your ### back that truck & drive!!!!
.... do you think these fine upstanding slime balls would give you a fair handshake , if it wasn't for Unions?
Who do you think came up with the idea of minimum wage ? Or OT after 40 hrs ?
Or workmen's comp. Or labor laws ?
.....trust me , this certainly wasn't your boss's ideal of "fair play "already gone Thanks this. -
I have never been in a union. I don't care about the union socialist argument. I'm not informed enough or frankly interested enough to debate the union link to rising consumer prices.
This is what I see in my day to day activities, every time I go to a union jobsite I can count on it taking longer to load/unload the majority of the time.
I have never asked a receiver to help me fold tarps. I did however ask a union crew if they would be kind enough to just stand on a tarp edge while I folded to keep the high winds from blowing my tarp across the lot. I was told "that's not my job." This happened twice.
At union ran places I see group's of employees standing around taking extended breaks when there are long lines of trucks waiting for them to come back to work.
I'm all for fair wages and benefits. I'm all for protection of the working man. But, if a man isn't pulling his weight he loses all of those benefits and protections. I could care less how long he has worked there.Lonesome, metallifreak10, sealevel and 4 others Thank this. -
I went through training and had the "pleasure" of driving Teams for Schneider so I was dispatched out of West Memphis, TN. Company tried hard to be be safe but certain people went over the top and seemed like Gestapo agents. I was continually placed with poor team drivers, dispatched to non existent places to get non existent empty trailers and went through a lot of hassle and went broke. My experience sucked and I went on to work for an organized and professional company that I greatly appreciated after wasting my time with amateurs.

Lol you say we can contact government agencies for handling the situation you were speaking about instead of unions, then accuse unions of having a socialist agenda to destroy companies.
Talk about a contradicting post!
And you think unions have a socialist agenda to destroy companies? Makes perfect sense!
I think i lost 10 IQ points reading your comment.already gone and Tb0n3 Thank this. -
Can't lose something you've never had, genius. Resorting to name calling and insults. Very mature. Pick up a book and learn something.

Never called you names. I don't know where you get that from. But
I never resorted to name calling. Reread my comment.
I was just pointing out your contradicting comment.
You can try to put a political spin with unions. The same can be done with corporations and business.
Truth is the two are crucial to balance things out. Trucking is a great example. People give up majority of their lives and make peanuts.
Get rid of unions and things will get worse.
Big business loves when employees are divided and compete against eachother.
Makes you weak and desperate.already gone, superflow and Tb0n3 Thank this. -
If unions are so great then why is it mandatory to join the union to be employed by the company?
Also #### near every single blue collar union said 8 years unset Obama was great and we needed 8 more under Hillary. That alone should tell ya where unions lay on the socialist spectrum.drvrtech77, sealevel, rabbiporkchop and 1 other person Thank this.
