You would be correct. Considering only Werner and US Xpress runs DG DC out of Bessemer, AL

Rio Rancho NM, 20 miles from Albuquerque is a town of almost 100,000 people. In anticipation of them becoming the next Sun AZ, they have completely mapped out an area that is about 75 sq miles north and west of the city. All of the roads are on Google maps, names are on GPS's. Names like Progress Ave, Elise Ct, Red Flower lane.
A friend of mine has a stock Jeep Wrangler. He explores the area all the time. There are many instances where you have to turn around because of an 10-30 foot deep gully. But the GPS says just to go straight and you will get to the McDonalds. No electricity, no water, no houses for miles. We even found a "preppers" underground bunker out there abandoned. The roads are barely passable with a Jeep at 3 mph, many times not, but the trusty GPS says just turn right at 6th Ave NW and you are good to go, right over a cliff
It was a really fun time.

Google Maps is not very good in rural places. wego.here.com seems to be more accurate in the places I've been, the have the unbuilt area colored differently in the link above.

You know what goes through the drivers mind. He is on a back road, clearly not intended for trucks, has been taking down tree branches for miles. No where to turn around, sees the warning sign, but it is too late to do anything about it. Maybe at night, maybe during the day. He looks around and says, well no one will see him, let's try it. He gambled. He lost.
I used to live on a road that had a bridge on it with a 10 ton weight limit. No clearance issues, but high arch that would ground out any lowboy or car hauler. Guys would blow right past the sign on the end of the street. Some would back out of it. Some gunned it. If I could get to them before they hung up I would go out and help them back out of it.

30 tons??? that would be 66,000 lb , no warehouse will put that much weight on a regular van.

Heck my GPS likes me to try turn down someone’s driveway and make an”U-Turn” if possible. I just keep going.

9-10 times I know the road I’m on, and if I don’t then I’ll call the local PD or look at Google Maps. Provided those don’t work, then I find a safe pull off and walk the route to see for myself.
