Unless you move “power only” loads for someone... but that’s typically not load board stuff

Some companies rent or lease trailers and trucks.

I was once told by an old timer, “ it’s the trailer that makes the money.” That’s always stuck in my head since.

I started out doing power only and am a big fan of having my own trailer. Life is so much easier with it.

One more question. What is the average time before you receive funds from a broker for loads delivered?

If you don’t use a factor, you will never see a check in under 45 days. They sit on your payment for the maximum time allowed by the contract. Often, you have to call and “remind” them to send out the check. And forget about collecting late fees from them. However, they’ll deduct from you in a heartbeat!
