Some carriers are not that accommodating. Some of them look at it as you are creating additional work for dispatch and the planner.
I have a few bad experiences. I felt like I was a problem for not wanting to do certain loads.
It's called "Forced Dispatch" for a reason LOL ....
You were fortunate to not have had any problems or issues with your forced dispatch experience.

How is going at dart, hope you are doing well
-
Going well ! Other than the trailer shortage at a lot of the drop and hooks.... Really can not complain.
Doing about 2600 miles every 6 or 7 days. Could definitely do more if I wanted ! But I'm not looking to do more. I did do 3400 miles a few weeks ago in 6 and a half days -
So true, once you tell them no a couple times on
Bull crap loads they'll no longer ask.
They know you won't do it,so they don't bother asking.
It's called setting the boundaries.
Its why you see more companies going to the
Minimum pay thing. To force the gutless souls
To do all the crap loads or else. -

Dart doesn't pay well but they do offer a lot of support that's why it worked for me to get my feet wet in the lease game. There is so much to learn. It was a good trade off for me at the time.
