For a while i ran Syracuse out of South Jersey. Home daily. Made great money. Ran for a local nursery was home daily and made great money. I sure wish that nursery was year round!

Slept in truck 4 times in last 3 years or so. Worked some weekends, worked some long days, and late nights. Took most of Jan, all of Feb 2017 off. Off most weekends. Bills are paid and no one is calling asking for money. If your a owner make it what you want. But don't let your personal finance dictate your work life. If its cheap freight stay home. It will be cheaper in the long run.

I was out 4 weekends all of last year. I’ve been out 5 times already this year though. Some because of elogs but mostly to take advantage curent of market conditions. I run it like a buissness. If I make evough to cover my budget I can chose to work extra or go home? If I’m short I better figure out how to get to my budget number before I go home.

Out of curiosity, is assuming a 7 day work week (so weekends plus 2 days), or 2.5 weeks on top of weekends off?

10 days off straight. I leave the house for 15-20 days take 10 off and do it again on average. That changes depending on month and the way freight is moving.jamespmack Thanks this.
