I drive a slow company truck but my pay is above average. That said it sure would be nice to go 75mph the one joy i do get is passing up all the heavy trucks on the hills (like on I-70 vail pass) but it does suck go across i-80 Wyoming when the wind is blowing. I guess it all evens out in the end.
trucking companies that do not govern trucks or can at least do 70 mph

All else being equal I would rather have an APU, microwave, refigerator and gaming laptop then I have a reason to stop. Otherwise driving is most entertaining thing I have to do.
Milkman719 Thanks this. -
Good point. I didn't have an APU or real fridge at my first company (I had an iceless cooler--it works but not as good). Now I've got both and it makes a huge difference out here.

But the argument is out there that at 62 you'd get 7.3. Have you tested that theory. I'm not saying that's accurate, or that you should try it. Just wondered if you'd done the experiment for yourself and what where your results?Tb0n3 Thanks this.

I forgot to mention I drive a daycab and I stay in hotels which i like because its nice to get out of the truck. I'm not trying one up you though because I have great respect for drivers that have to sleep in truck. (been there done that)

Good thing about having that extra pedal room is, getting away from the cluster ##-- of trucks, bunched up trying to pass one another with all of "1" mph separating them. And with these newly trained 1-2 week drivers. It's SCARY!!CorsairFanboy, mushroom1464, Tall Mike and 3 others Thank this.

Try doing it on a two-lane highway. It'll flat out scare the Heck out of ya!! LOL

Faster is better!
Nobody says you have to use it all the time!
I have a C-15 3:75rears on 11/R22.5’s with a 13spd. Mostly run 60-65. Have been known to run 75-78, depends on schedules/mood. Typically average 6.7-6.9. Haven’t been stuck in a drag race in over 2yrs , tho i’ve been stuck behind plenty. Smh.
To all the fools on this and so many other threads i ask. How do reach your keyboard from that high horse???
Always amazed how internet warriors can get so wound up from a simple question and drop a 10 page lecture. Lol. I love the entertainment value tho.
Governed trucks are a joke, properly train your employees, TRUST your employees, and take care of your employees. If you do that then you can hand a 100+Mph truck to a guy and rarely see him run it over 65/70mph.
P.S. my last company truck was governed at 80mph, I mostly ran it around 65. The only times i would hum a long above 70 was when the whip needed cracking (not often at all). I never went over 75, while i could afford the ticket who wants to deal with it? Plus now it’s on your mvr and follows you around for the next 5yrs.CorsairFanboy, mushroom1464, Tall Mike and 1 other person Thank this. -
I was behind a Florida Beauty truck last week. Dude was booking it at 80 lol. I was a bit stunned.
Chinatown Thanks this. -
They're out of Miami,FL and run hard and make fat paychecks.Milkman719 and Gin86 Thank this.
