I been busy so I havent been online in a while ... I applied for wireline operator but they said I was too smart to let me just be that so now I am perf gun builder/hotshot ... I mostly just stuff guns with wires and charges in the mornings and hotshot in the afternoons till night time. they will train me in building in the next few weeks after my week off.... I get 2 weeks on and 1 off like a operator plus the same pay rate but not garunteed 100+ hours... I have never hotshot before and just got my cdl back in July 2017...
note to beginners
1. get good at U turns lol
2. put the long and lat in your phone google can do minutes and seconds or decimals. confirm the lease road is off the right road on the route it gives you
3. add truck stops to that route in google maps
4. and just cuz the guy in front and the guy behind are flying doesnt mean you should or have too.
5. also pickup trucks with trailers have a much smaller turn radius ... those U Turns are possible

 

more tips
1. have chains and hooks strong enough to pull you and a loaded trailer out of sand/mud
2. have recovery track mats so you can get yourself unstuck out of sand/mud link
3. charger plus extra charger and plug adapter for vehicle
4. have drinks, snacks, poncho, flashlight, local area map
5. when you get to location add a pin on google maps so you have GOOD directions next time...(directions given by boss may not be good or right)
6. fill up tank and auxiliary tank when you can
7. sharp serrated knife must have
8. small duffel to hold all this stuff so you can have what you need in work truck
9. make sure phone and back up battery is charged before going to work lol

 

reach wireline.... 20 reg time 30 over time
you get a guarantee 100+ hrs for operator but they needed and talked me to be a gun builder/ hot shoot
i get good hrs but not 100 per week

 

yeah its a good rate and they give me an apartment for just 200 a month... new apartments on fairground rd in midland tx... not bad... dont have a room mate yet either... not alot of women out here lol we build our guns in a shop not out in the field like most do so we are a bit faster... operators just have to run the guns

 

it will when I get out of debt ... i have been laid off for 2 years i was an engineering tech making more money then but not alot more... soon as i get my credit paid off and pay back those who loaned me money my savings and retirement goals are the target.... pretty soon 6 months i think i get a raise then every year after plus i will have some very useful skills may end up an operator one day for now happy being gunbuilder/hotshot i get to sleep in my bed every night as is
