Having problems with my company trucks FM radio (not CB but regular radio). took it to the Ryder as it is leased through them and they simply replaced it and it worked for an hour or so and then started doing the same thing. I'll power it on and after about 5 seconds it shuts off. just wondering if anyone's had a similar issue with there FM radio on these trucks. this radio has the Bluetooth on it also so its fairly new stereo.. hesitant about taking it back to Ryder as i don't think they have the skills to fix this sort of thing thus wasting my time.

It is usually losing the ignition power input to the back of the radio. Check the entertainment radio ign or acc fuse in the fuse panel for being lose or tarnished pins.

    10-4.
one thing i forgot to add is it started happening after the company had the elog guys come install the wiring for it.

Yeah, they get tapped into other circuits that sometimes they shouldn't be. Be a good idea to check those over really good.

Well the only problem with that theory is that we have 2 other trucks that didn't have this problem...

Never assume they are all the same, because they aren't.

turns out it was a fuse. the cb fuse. apparently the radio and cb share that one.

also whoever had the truck before me had a cb and pulled out with out shoring up any of the wiring so some of them were touching throwing the fuse.. funny thing is ryder just through another radio in it and threw the old one that was perfectly fine in the trash.. shouldve asked them for it as i was thinking it was something else at the time lol..
