This is bad (drained diff fluid)

    Antisieze consistency is normal if you get crumb size pieces I'd be worried

    The front diff was in good shape. Fluid was still clean.

    My log truck friend suggested filling the diff with diesel, running it around the block then draining it again to see what comes out.

    Bad idea! Diesel washes oil off gears and could cause significant wear just going around the block

    Diesel in the diff just sounds bad to me simply my opinion

    That’s why I asked. Didn’t sound smart to me.

    Also, has anyone hand pumped gear oil from a 5 gallon bucket before? I’ll tell you it really sucks.

    Yea I use an old oil pump out of a ford 390 run by a drill but I'm just a half lazy hillbilly I guess
