Ahh gotcha, 10-4.

 

Really Bob? We've had nothing but respectful exchanges, but you let your fingers fly a little loose with that post. Fear? I fear absolutely nothing when it comes to trucking. I do however think AHEAD, and right NOW I'm not in the position to play the guessing game in a "on-call" scenario. Flaked out? Not at all. I told YRC after getting the actual truth from the TM that I'm not going to play the on call game when the terminal is an hour away.

I never formally "turned down" Estes. Actually, they JUST called me this afternoon and informed me the background came back good, and that they'd call me Monday to discuss a start date for the following week in April. As stated several times, the TM informed me that they can't guarantee me 40 hours, or what I'd be doing day to day. The schedule is all over the place, with the very real possibility of traveling out of state to different terminals to help out, and on top of that, there's zero idea of when a bid run would open up. If theres tons of money to be made in the combo position, the TM kept that to himself, as well as giving off the very strong impression that I'd be in combo spot for quite some time. As we all know it's dependent on the terminal. I'm only concerned with Line-Haul, as I've also stated several times after seeing what P&D entails, I'm not interested in the rat race that comes with it, or playing customer care representative everyday.

I do have some specific goals, and I've realized playing the P&D game MIGHT not be my niche. How that comes off as flaking out, or being fearful is beyond me Bob. Either way, it'll be a week before I can even start at LEAST, so in the meantime I'll just run for a semi-local outfit running over-sized loads up and down the interstate for highway construction that scooped me up today, while I was playing phone tag with the out of town flatbed gig, which turned into a actual "regional" run "suddenly."

I appreciate you saying "no offense" at the end of your post, which actually came off the same as a back-handed compliment. I did take slight offense Bob. I'm a nice guy for the most part, but I can be rough around the edges, and when you talk out of the side of your neck in reference to me, I will take offense. It's the moral in this case. I treat folks on here, exactly as I do offline and maybe we grew up in different areas, but one thing you don't do, is speak on another mans behalf, and certainly not in a gossip like manner. That's a female trait Bob. No offense. I hope we can continue with the same respectful exchanges we've had prior to this.

I know you're diggin your gig at Estes and that's great, I'm happy for you Kao. I really am. But you're not going to pull in 2000 gross a week in the combo-driver position, which is the only thing they had available. I will however make that running over-sized loads, and be off on the weekend, as well as being home a couple of nights a week, (yes it's in writing and yes it's w2) Keep doing what you're doing and you'll have a good career there man.
