What a crock, sounds like they are just making money off of the school part. Good luck man, yah payed them in good faith and they did yah wrong.

 

Tell them to get you a truck or tear up your contract because you were lead to belive that once out of training you would be assigned your truck.

If you call dateline, 20/20 or any other of the tv investigation agency's I am sure they will contact the approiate places to have the school shut down untill they need to get more people trained.

I know demanding a truck or them tearing up the contract will just probaly get you laughed at but you never know it may just work. If they just laugh at you ask them how would they like to be investigated by the state and / or dateline etc

If swift can not provide you a truck then they should be held in breech of contract and the contract should be null and void.

 

I would document everything...record the meeting with the terminal manager, and then walk away when he says there is nothing he can do. Then actually beg them to throw that contract at you later. The attorneys always line up for Swift cases because Swift can't win. In this case, they would get torn up.

There was a 19yr old girl here in Houston that was in her lane on I45 when a Swift truck decided that he wanted that lane and then took it, Put the trailer over her little car and crushed her into the wall. She survived but lost her legs. The attorneys were beating down the hospital doors. Including Swift's. Needless to say, the case never went to court, and she is set for life.

 

Go to a lawyer have him draft a copy of intent to sue for breach of contract,(your agreement to pay for training hinges on employment) Agreement either gets torn up or you will pursue this avenue. They have no idea if you will or not.

Word of Caution !

3 months off the truck with trainer, without driving. Will require you go through training again.

Get a job NOW!!! Some companies may require you to 2nd seat for a couple of weeks. But that beats the hell out of repeating the whole training process again.

I wonder if you could try finding a good O/O who would let you team or maybe give you a chance run a truck to build exp. on while waiting?

 

Check with you local attorney's they may tke your case on a continguncy basis wich means they get paid once they collect.

I would sue the heck out of swift for breach of contract if it costs you 200.00 for attorney's fees to get out of that contract it would be worth it as you already have the training but you will be without the bill.

why the heck should he wait for swift they are in breach of their agreement they were suppose to have a job for this person upon completeion of training.
