Lets calculate
Your driver put 3100 in his pocket which is 25% of the gross=1/4
3100x4=12400 Gross
Now lets see your rate per mile
12400/2700= 4.59$ a mile in February, REALLY? HAZMAT?
I bet you established good relationships with customers 30 years ago.

 

Percentage can be good if you are working for honest people there are normally very rare

I have a freightliner 13 speed that I am putting on the road, I could pay anywhere from $0.50 - $0.55/mile
