My experiences were not recent but a few years ago. Occurrences were more often than not ,both over the counter and through the shop. When you do one a week, comebacks are very important to keep to a minimum. A warranty doesn't mean much if the quality isn't there. I can tell you that a original Paccar radiator is 3 or 4 times as much as the aftermarmarket ones are , so ask the parts guys what your getting for your money.

I have used them a few times here lately, had good results. I will say I put one of their CAC coolers on my 3406B and the pyro come up about 200 degrees in a hard pull. Checked for leaks, fuel settings timing etc. Finally borrowed the Factory Pete cooler off my other truck and it settled back down. True nothing about mine is stock really but that sure wasnt the result I was hoping for

I see the radiator and cac I got at Kenworth is from Northern Radiator. From what I hear they are a decent company.
Oxbow and Bigrigmayo93 Thank this. -
Thanks for the info. I’m going to stop by the dealer sometime this week to see what they have.

WHATEVER YOU DO, STICK WITH CAT ORIGINAL TURBO . WITHOUT CAT PARTS, IF THE TURBO ESPECIALLY COMES APART OF FAILS AND DESTROYS YOU ENGINE, CAT WILL BUILD YOU A BRAND NEW ENGINE. YOULL PAY MORE, BUT TRUST ME, WORTH THE PEACE OF MIND
MY WIFES COUSIN HAD A CAT COMPRESSOR COME APART 6 MONTHS AGO, AND HE INSTALLED IT. IT RAN 13 MONTHS BEFORE FAILING AND IT TOOK OUT THE ENTIRE FRONT OF THE ENGINE AND THEN SOME, CAT PAYED PARTS AND LABOR TO REBUILD IT ALL.Bigrigmayo93 Thanks this. -
MBN IS A BRIDGE MOTOR, POPULAR IN THE 2004 ERA
IVE KNOWN GUYS TO TRY MUCH TO GET THE PONYS UP, ONE GUY INSTALLED A DIODE IN THE ECM TO BOOST IT UP AND BESIDES 50-70 DEGREE RISE IN TEMP, ALL WENT WELL. I KNOW NOTHING MORE, PERHAPS LOOK IT UP, SEE WHAT YOU CAN FIND. HISTORICALLY, THOSE ENGINES DO HAVE A POWER ISSUE. YOU CAN THANK C.A.R.B. (CALIFORNIA AIR RESOURCES BOARD) THEY STARTED THIS MESS, WHICH CARRIED ON THROUGHOUT THOSE IN FEDERAL POWER.Bigrigmayo93 Thanks this. -
Thanks a lot for the info. I know about the tunes, but not sure if I can afford it at the moment. So I was planning on just going with a stock turbo for now.

On a 475 mbn does Anyone know what a weird knock/tick in the cylinder 6 area would be ? I took valve cover off and nothing is broken or loose it knocks at light throttle and idle kind of a rattle knock then if put more pedal down it goes away n changes pitch.....no metal in oil or filter either

Show me where CAT will rebuild your engine if there parts fail ? And btw..... “WHY ARE YOU YELLING”..... !!!!!!!Bigrigmayo93 Thanks this.

Btw... to the OP, a Borg Warner turbo will suit you fine. About half the price of a original Cat turbo and more reliable. And you get to keep your original turbo for a core.
Oxbow, Bigrigmayo93, SAR and 1 other person Thank this.
